Studio Ghibli and its magic

Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animation film studio headquartered in Koganei, Tokyo.It is best known for its animated feature films, and has also produced several short subjects, television commercials, and two television films.It was founded in 1985 by animated film directors Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki.

The name "Ghibli" was chosen by Miyazaki from the Italian noun ghibli (also used in English), based on the Libyan Arabic name for hot desert wind (قبلي, 'ghiblī'), the idea being the studio would "blow a new wind through the anime industry".

Studio Ghibli films have garnered numerous awards and critical acclaim from film critics and animation specialists around the world.The last four films released by Studio Ghibli, have earned the studio four consecutive Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature Film.

Due to its worldwide recognition,the Studio opened a museum, which is located in Inokashira Park in Mitaka, a western city of Tokyo, Japan.
